How does Andel help employers manage GLP-1 costs?

Andel gives employers access to GLP-1 medications at significantly discounted prices by sourcing directly from manufacturers. This allows employers to offer these medications at a lower overall cost without changing their existing health plan structure.

Does Andel replace our PBM or existing pharmacy benefits?

No. Andel operates alongside your existing pharmacy benefits. Employees who use Andel simply fill their GLP-1 prescriptions through our program rather than through the PBM.

What is required from our HR or benefits team to offer Andel?

Implementation is simple. We provide ready-to-use enrollment materials, and you decide which employees are eligible. Most employers can activate the program within weeks.

Can I just send my employees to Lilly Direct and reimburse them?

No. Lilly Direct is available only on a self-pay basis and does not accept insurance. When purchasing medication through Lilly Direct’s self-pay pharmacy, individuals agree not to seek payment or reimbursement—directly or indirectly—from any insurance plan or third-party payer. A better option is to direct employees to Andel, where you can contribute a fixed amount toward the cost of the medication they purchase.

Are there any other associated PMPM fees?

No, there are no PMPM fees associated with this program. Your only contribution would be towards reducing the cost of the medication for your employees who fill a prescription at Andel.

Is there a required employer contribution to offer Andel?

Employers generally contribute a minimum of $100 toward each employee’s GLP-1 purchase made through Andel (although lower contributions may be agreed in special situations). This contribution is applied only when an employee actually purchases a prescription through the Andel platform — there is no pre-funding and no administrative fees whatsoever. The employer contribution directly reduces the employee’s out-of-pocket cost, making access to GLP-1 medications more affordable.

Is there a minimum group size or commitment?

No. Employers of any size can participate. There are no long-term commitments or minimum enrollment requirements.

How do employees get their medication?

Once enrolled and a physician has sent in their GLP-1 prescription to Andel, employees are notified and they can purchase their discounted medication through the Andel app. Medications ship directly from our dispensing pharmacy for next day delivery.

Is the medication safe and legitimate?

Yes. Andel only works with manufacturers that meet strict regulatory and quality standards. Employees receive FDA approved brand-name medications. We do not deal with compounds.

Can we start with a pilot?
